How personal bests are worked out

Updated Oct 26, 2026 · 1 min read

Which results count towards your PBs, and how to leave a race out.

What counts

A race counts towards your personal best for its distance when:

  • you finished it with a time (DNF and DNS results never count), and
  • it’s a past race, not an upcoming one, and
  • it isn’t left out of PBs.

Your PB is your fastest time at each distance: 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon.

Leaving a race out

Some results shouldn’t count, such as a race you paced for a friend. Open the race, tap the edit button and turn off Counts towards PBs.

Treadmill races are left out automatically. To count one anyway, turn Counts towards PBs on.

Verified and manual results

Both verified and manually entered results count towards PBs. Verification only confirms the time against the official results.
